Peroneus Brevis: Origin, Insertion, Action & Nerve Supply

Peroneus Brevis: The peroneus brevis ( fibularis brevis) lies below the peroneus longus muscle and is the smaller and smaller of the peroneus longus muscles.

Origin: Lower 2/3 of the lateral surface of the fibula.
Insertion: Lateral surface of the styloid process of the base of the 5th metatarsal 5th metatarsal bone

Function: Everts foot and plantar flexes ankle

Nerve Supply: Superficial peroneal nerve (L5, S1, S2)
